I was pretty productive last week
- Got the full scale drawing for my bicycle quilt done and made some progress on the
actual quilt. Not entirely sure how happy I am with the way this quilt is turning out. I am learning with each quilt I make in this new style. The qualities of each line (how thick/thin, start/stop point, angle, solid or outline etc) as well as where I place the color plays a critical role in the success or failure of the overall design and so I think it’s important to see each one through to the end.
- Dyed 5 yards of black fabric
- Sewed the sleeve on the Cottage Door quilt
- Organized and cataloged all my full sized quilt drawings and moved them into storage.
- Wrote a blog post about getting your work out there and reviewed a couple of books and products. And I drafted two more posts three antidotes to the inner critic that you’ll see here on my blog this Thursday and one on The artist sketchbooks.
- I only got a chance to watch one On1 training video so I will endeavor to do more of those this week.
On my list of intentions this week:
I’m happy to say that the final layout of my new book is due this week for final editing (YAY!) so I will have to devote a good amount of time to doing a final read through. Once the files arrive from C&T this will have to be my top priority for the week.
Finish the Bicycle quilt.
Work on some sketches for my next piece in the black and white series. I originally thought it might have something to do with a teapot and a stack of books but now I am leaning towards something with boats…
Organize my quilts and supplies for a trunk show that I will be doing this week at the Rhododendron Needlers Quilters Guild in Walpole MA
Continue research for my Deeds not Words quilt celebrating Elizabeth Cady Stanton. I have done some reading and made a few pages of notes and sketches. I have a few vague ideas percolating but so far nothing has taken hold. Fortunately the deadline for this is not until February 2019 so I have some time. I also know that if I push it to the back burner that I will end up finding myself scrambling come January and I really want to give this piece the attention and thought that it deserves.
Watch at least 3 ON1 video lessons.
I hope these weekly roundup/intention posts aren’t getting boring for you! I am finding that I like keeping track of what I’ve accomplished and what I am working towards on a weekly basis. It’s helps narrow my focus and keeps me from getting distracted. Give it a try and see how it works for you. If you do, feel free to post a link to your weekly roundup post in the comments so that I and other readers can check it out.
:You managed to get a huge amount done. I do make a list of what I want to get done.
